Votekicks last only 30 minutes. Did you wait at least 30 minutes to make sure your “ban” is not just a votekick?
I know it is not a votekick because I was issuing a votekick against someone else at the time.
What is your in-game player name? Please include it in the subject of this topic as well.
Vezok Van Gogh (for today, I am known around simply as “Vezok”)
What server were you playing on when you got banned? Reminder: We can only help you with bans that took place on aloha.pk servers.
It was Aloha Push
Why were you banned? Lying severely decreases your chances of getting unbanned. If your “little brother” got you banned, tell him to make an appeal, or accept responsibility on his behalf.
Probably for votekick abuse
Why should you be unbanned?
Because it was not abuse. I issued a votekick against a guy who was idiotically issuing another against someone who he thought was hacking, even when it was painfully obvious he wan’t. Checking the chat logs would show I’m right.
I repeatedly used the /admin command to have the votekick stopped, but nothing happened. So I issued one of my own. Four votes in I was kicked. When I tried to get back on I got a banned message.
When were you banned? Best approximate date and time, please.
Monday, Feb 18. Around 9:00 PM U.S. Central time.
I don’t know the length or severity of the ban (not sure how you manage your blacklists on these forums and such), however, I don’t want my reputation tarnished with this ban.
Wait, what? There is absolutely no way I used no recoil. I was spawncamping down a line.
I don’t even know how to use one. Who was the one that banned me?
You’ve even seen me moderate on minit. There is no way that I hack. Period.
I banned you off a video which was reported. Not trying to be mean but past events don’t really mean anything to me. You can’t really judge someone completly on past actions.
I see nothing incriminating. How can you consider that actual, banworthy, evidence?
Edit* After watching that video several times, it becomes clear that there is a recoil, but it is indeed the minimal one that comes from crouching. So once again I must repeat, I did nothing deserving of this ban.
Hmm, I watched the video too. Let’s see. I downloaded the video and I’m framestepping it.
0:06 When you killed IDITE NAX, your gun doesn’t twitch after the shot at all.
0:08 After killing atrain1298, your gun doesn’t twitch at all.
0:38 After killing PiRoCuDo_MaStEr, your gun doesn’t twitch at all.
I play with rifle every day, and even with a less-recoiled shot from crouching, that is definitely not what it looks like at all.
The better question here should be how valid this video is. Despite its prettiness and 1080p with good fps, the fact remains that OVL isn’t the best tool for recording things. Accompanied with those snaps from 0:10-0:15 or so, I’d say that it might be too low quality to call things like recoil on.
What you say has truth. I don’t use OVL in my moderations at all so I have little understanding of it.
Even in the video I saw instances of recoil. To my understanding, a no recoil hack suppresses the recoil at all times of playing. By that logic, wouldn’t any instances of recoil in the video invalidate all accusations against me?
Another question related to OVL, if an experienced player (like myself) pulls the rifle down to immediately compensate for the recoil, would that show up on the recording?
Anyways, I stay by my original statement. I don’t know how, never have, and never will use hacks of any nature.
I agree with Reki in the sense that no recoil can be tricky to pick out in the best of settings. Also, recoil need not be limited to a vertical shift in orientation… even minor to the left or right suggest that the player is semi-skilled and is actually compensating for the recoil by jumping back to his target, but offset to one side slightly. After watching this clip, I can only see 3 shots that can be clearly said as no recoil. The thing is that can easily be explained by 3 missing orientation packets. Vezok did fire several shots that have a clear amount of recoil (remember even the slightest recoil counts due to skilled players controlling their recoil and immediately adjusting). Also, the evidence that we have on Minit Assault suggests that Vezok’s connection is extremely unstable. 500ms+ ping with spikes of 1000ms+, yet he only managed to set off a single recoil hack detection notice in 30 minutes of play. Topo, by contrast has around a 300ms+ ping and usually sets off 3-4/hour. Basically, vezok fired a grand total of about 10 shots in this video clip… most of those had recoil or were inconclusive. 3 shots did not have recoil. I’d say that 3 missing orientation packets is a far more likely cause of his apparent lack of recoil. If anything, it’s more likely that he’s using an aimbot to lock onto a player and controlling his recoil in that way, but I see no evidence of snapping. I know my vote doesn’t count more much here, but there seems to be too little evidence, and too much of that evidence shows that he had plenty of recoil. My current theories for this anomaly in the order of probability are: Packetloss/lousy connection, aimbot (unlikely), generic no-recoil hack(extremely remote).
Basically, my vote on vezok is innocent, although I’m aware that my vote doesn’t count much here on Aloha ;).
hi reki i just 2 tell u that actualy no recoil hacks r toggleable so u can turn dem off nd on with ease of 1 or 2 button depnding on wat u use! sank u for ur time 8) 8) 8)
Were you using this connection? Your IP is still banned. (x.x.x.183)
I can confirm that there were about 3 shots that had no recoil in them (I can upload all the frames if you need), but I think it’s much more likely to assume OVL was being a derp than that you were hacking.
@Reki that’s mine alright. But I got on two Aloha servers without trouble (I logged out immediately).
I will honor the ban, even if it is unprecedented.
