I’ve heard of all these mods and don’t get me wrong there are all fun, but I enjoy Minecraft “naked” and Minecraft updates too often and the mods sometimes don’t. If an aloha or private server is added, I will join but make sure it’s whitelisted or has BigBrother or a similar mod so all griefing can be reverted.
The beauty of tekkit is that it doesn’t update mods like a regular Minecraft would.Tekkit updates a lot differently than Minecraft they are on a completely different version all the time so no tekkit mods will ever be incompatible Minecraft but the tekkit mods will still update automatically.

Mine is a 7 year old dell dimension 3.00 ghz pentium 4 dual core Windows vista home premium 32 bit, 1 gb RAM, 1 tb hard drive, ATI HD Radeon 4600, creative xi-do sound card. It just recently got corrupt and it was way beyond my knowledge to fix (which is a lot) and I lost 1 gb ram cuz it was corrupt. I had vista home basic before and 80 gb hard drive until I had to upgrade. Btw vista and ati suck so much, it’s driving me mentally insane.

You have decent ram. Go to http://CanIHostAMinecraftServer.com/ and it can tell you how much people it can handle. Just post the number. Mine was 1.

Supposedly I can host 141, but then again that is for vanilla Minecraft, not tekkit. Ya my vista inst great but it isn’t the worst system I have used, I just can`t restart my computer because my computer does not boot up. Another reason I cant host is my internet is unreliable it goes down at least 45 times an hour some days.
What’s the specific problem of not booting up? Blue screen of death? I’ve grown to be an expert in Vista and computers. Mine is very messed up and always was corrupt. First thing I would do to fix is repair it via the operating system disc. If that does not work, back all your data and completely reinstall vista. If that does not work, you either have a corrupt RAM or if you have money, buy windows 7. I brought mine to compusa and told them my problem and they fixed it and reinstall home premium over my old home basic after negotiating with them and getting a $80 discount. If you want send any error reports or numbers with PM and ill help you. ;D

Tekkit sounds fun, but those mods are so intensively complex that I don’t think they would be worth it, honestly.
Vanilla(ish) MC is the best, the ‘ish’ being small changes like block protection or different mob spawning, ect. Smaller things.
Sir when you fly around on an electric jetpack you will think it is worth it.
