Well I admit it, i was nosing around ban appeals section and the posts i made were off-topic or didn’t have the correct form for a ban appeal section post.
But why my posts are taken as an attack to a section? Why, even if i know the person that posted his/her ban appeal (talking about Britt) and want to post my own opinion in there, why it offends some people from the staff?
Ridiculous thing is this thread. I definitely know that i am included in the bad/spamming persons group. I know why you didn’t explain me what to do and what not to do (It doesn’t mean that someone tells me - “Don’t post in the ban appeals section”) I want better explanation than this. As soon as i get it, i won’t be posting this “spam” anymore.
Its not that we don’t appreciate people’s opinions. The reason we don’t want people to post their opinions during a ban appeal unless it contains information to help sway the verdict of a ban is that the appeals will get cluttered/off topic and half the time the opinions are from the banned player’s buddies trying to talk the admins out of leaving said player banned.
Also read Zeldo’s appeal and you will understand why, one it gets in the way, two annoys the shit out of the admins (trust me I did what you did and now that I am a staff member I understand why it annoys us), three It can/does deviate appeals, and lastly four It can harm the appealer
Also read Domink’s appeal as funny as it is it killed his appeal
[^not meant to be boldface]
Also there is no bad persons / spammers group and your posts weren’t taken as an attack, clan groups like noseing where they shouldn’t be and people sticking up for others is annoying as well mostly due to the fact that with the advanced tools we have we are more accurate than ever.
(Clarification) Its not spam, its just unneeded posts that are treated as spam.
Basically as you say “my opinion”, the banning admin couldn’t care less of what one thinks someone in which their judgement is affected by past treatment and actions. They are focusing on the current situation and past actions of the appealer that lead to the ban appeal.
I said it to you once, I’ll extend the meaning. Opinions are not needed in appeals. They contain no evidence that would contribute to the case and simply they are thoughts or assumptions affected by past actions or treatment (Ex. Someone being friendly). As someone said already, these “posts” may annoy the banning admin. Its like an advertisement when watching a video, you don’t want to see it, you just want to keep the video (appeal in this case) moving along (Progression).
As Froelich131 said somewhere, that doesn’t mean we (staff) doesn’t want the community to stay quiet. If you think you have evidence or anything important to add to the appeal, notify the banning admin or perhaps another admin.
Don’t take any of this as being rude remarks to you. Take it as a lesson so you know what to do next time.
I don’t know what is Scipio talking about, yes I mostly agree with the rest.
I think that this isn’t advertising, I don’t see a reason why this should annoy the admin. When you speak with someone, you can freely tell your opinions to him and he can agree or disagree with it and he doesn’t feel offended, usually.
If you are not banned, not staff, not a witness, and don’t know the person, I do not see how your opinion could be relevant.
If you are posting telling people the difference between Ace of Spades and Build and Shoot in the ban appeals section, you are spamming. Your post adds ZERO information towards resolving the appeal.
The ban appeals section is there for resolving appeals. It isn’t a chat room. It’s there for the banned player and for staff to resolve an appeal.
I’m glad you are an active member of our community and contribute to our forums, but the appeal section is not a place to hang out.
