What? What kind of question is that? I mean, are you trying to invoke a semantic argument or realization of the word “language”? Of course English is a language, and anyone who wants to make some hipster argument about how it isn’t is obnoxious or pretentious.
So yes, it is a language. But “language” is so much more than “English”. Language isn’t some systematic method of communication via regular expressions with lexemes and terminals that forever branch out into some of the most complex trees of definitions; it can be body language too. It ultimately is method of transferring conscious (and arguably subconscious (beyond the scope of my understanding)) thoughts to another being. That’s why it’s so annoying when idiots pretend to be smart by correcting grammar and limiting themselves to the systematic way of English and other foreign languages.
