Yeah, I didn’t even realize those existed. There’s probably a good reason for it lol. I don’t go looking in the $700+ range for 1TB storage that is only capable of USB 3.0 speeds. :’)
If you want to save some moolah. Get the Crucial BX100 and just get a 2.5" enclosure for it. You can use it as a normal hard drive or external hard drive whenever you want.
I looked up the cheapest 250ish SSD I could find and the Mushkin Eco 2 was the cheapest on the site I looked on. It is apparently made in the USA (designed, assembled, tested), but I have no clue what the performance or quality is like.
