Current Update stands as it will remain on September 7th 4 pm PDT (check the first post for a time converter)
Teams are relatively organized, Green Team is being led by ei8htx and Blue Team is being led by Thufman. Red color is for undecided players that will be used to even out the teams
Blue team as of now consist of clan members, where as Green seems to be a mishmash of players.
We will be using the Aloha mumble, i will try to set up channels and groups and what not for each team and sub team

I’d like to reiterate what Thufman said in the OP:
A major feature of this event is increased communication for well organized teams composed of expert players. This organization requires mumble, an application that allows you to speak to other players.

Download the client software on the right side of the screen. Installation is pretty simple, as there’s a wizard when you first start the application to help you set up your mic and audio.
I highly recommend using a button to activate it, rather than having your mic turn on automatically when it picks up noise. This is especially true for laptop users or those using a webcam w/ mic. You’ll have this option towards the end of the wizard (my push-to-talk is set to mouse button 5, your scroll button (click, not scroll) is also free in aos for you 3 button mouse owners).
If you choose to do push-to-talk, keep your threshold rather low (so that it’s easier to pick up sounds), this means your blue part of the meter should be small. If instead you are using auto-detect, be sure to keep your threshold toward the high end, or else the rest of us will pick up your game and background noise, which can get quite irritating, especially with 16 people.
Once the setup wizard is complete, on the connect screen, add a new favorite (Label it what you want) and put in mumble.aloha.pk for the address. Leave the port unchanged.
Once you’re connected, double click on Aloha to put you in that channel. On the event day there will be channels for Blue and Green team.
Even if you don’t have a mic, or don’t wish to speak, please install mumble anyway. This way you can at least hear our communications.

For green team: I’d like to run through a trial run with mumble (blue is welcome too, just to get a feel for mumble). I’ll be on tomorrow, Friday evening, PST. This is early morning for Europe and mid afternoon for the Aussies.
I still need 2 more people…and if this goddamn router issue isn’t solved I might have to miss out. I’ll try to go to a friends house saturday. IIRC, 4PM PDT is 7PM EDT right?
Thank you ei8htx for the explanation with mumble, that is exactly what i want. i just sorta assumed every knew the basics of mumble (joining channels).
And having a practice meeting will be nice, i’ll try to get on after my practice today and do a trail run. so if you would like to join, my team or not, i’ll try to be there
also i believe we will be playing 0.75. in addition i ei8htx know which map we are playing.

Before you do anything you should Register your Mumble, be sure to be using the name that you most commonly associate yourself with.

We’re using Mumble for voice communications. For organization, each team will have three channels, one for builders, one for attackers, and one for defenders.
You’ll have one button to communicate with the people in your squad, and one button to communicate with your team.
Squad communications will work like normal, but for team communication you’ll have to add a setting.

Keep full-team voice chat to a minumum, as you don’t know if you’re interrupting anyone.
For unimportant messages, use ingame team chat.
