Since this is a little late, the best I can do is ask the entire staff to keep an eye out for these players. Thanks for reporting!

I have no words for this bullshit…

Pio, glitching is already not a permanent ban offense. Additionally, this happened a week ago, so there’s just not much to do…
It’s not like we’re going to permanently ban them for glitching on arena. You’d be surprised how many people have glitched before.

Although glitching is not a permanent ban offense, it is still giving him an advantage. This is basically what hacks do, and it’s not fair for the other players. I believe it shouldn’t be a permenent ban offense, but at least a day or two. Just to get them to realize that glitching isn’t cool.

Most glitchers are ban for a week. It would be permaban if the player repeat his action over and over couple of times.

Thanks

Nathan

If the usual punishment lasts a week, then they would still be banned until tomorrow, so I don’t see how it would be too late. It’s never too late for justice. You say you’re gonna keep an eye on them, but everyday there are many cheaters on the servers, and some of them come back the next day. If you can’t keep them out, how can you keep watch on some small potatoes?
And why would I waste my time getting those scumbags on video if you’re gonna let my report rot?

Also, seven days is way too little. When I started playing this game a few years back I didn’t see any glitchers on this server… It’s letting scumbags like this go free or ban them for a week that causes the plague to spread.
And some retards like this Spoopy here think that this isn’t cheating; they think it’s a cool trick. It’s most certainly not, because any player that knows the map they’re playing on would never look at the rooftops in order to find an enemy. In addition to the benefit of having the element of surprise, glitchers can also get into areas where nobody else can find and kill them, prolonging the game in the process.

I’m sure that aloha admins try their best to keep an eye for hackers and glitchers and ban them if necessary.
Just think that most admins have a life/play other video games and they can’t always help you if you need the help.
I’m sure they try their best to help you but in a situation like this it would be good to just go on aloha 's IRC channel and ask a admin live instead of doing alohas abuse report that sometimes gets ignored by admins on accident.
Just live with it as it is and move on.

I can’t exactly see the difference between banning a guy 1-2 days after a report was made and banning him after 5 days (in case of minor offenses). I don’t think that that would cause any confusion.

Exactly, better now than never anyway.

I disagree, he still will get a week ban when I get a chance. If another admin wants to debate feel free to create a topic in the admin section, this was submitted within a reasonable amount of time (week).

If you punish a dog serveral hours after he breaks something, he won’t learn why hes being punished. This situation is pretty much the same.
Its our fault we have let 5 days past, and we are sorry for that, but as Ferrari said, we’ll keep an eye on them. If we see them doing it again, we might give them a bigger punishment than just 5days/1week.

Edit: I also don’t understand how they did it, if you tell me where/how(in case its not 3 block high jump or tabbing out) they did it then I can go and fix it.

I’m not saying aloha admins don’t do their best, and I’m not saying they should sacrifice their lives for the sake of AoS either. It’s just that what they can do is not enough.
Everybody knows how useless the votekick system here is, on some servers you need like 50% of what you need on aloha and other servers, and that causes them to be more successful. If votekicks are useless, so is the Trusted status. You’re better off making place for a group that would undergo more loyalty tests and give them the rights to ban people. I think these are called Guards, but you don’t see any of them playing, really. Each ban would then have to be reported on this forum so other admins and the culprit know why the banning took place. Everything would also be evidenced by screenshots or videos. But since these people have special rights, they wouldn’t need to provide as much evidence (a few screenshots should be enough), since admins don’t need to provide any evidence at all.

The whole dog punishment thing is no argument at all, cuz a dog would forget what it did alright, but banned people can come to this forum and refresh their memories upon seeing evidence material. They can also beg for forgiveness.

If it wasn’t a 3 block high jump it wouldn’t be considered glitching. There are 2 blocks attached to a wall in the market area on Italy, you can see them on the first screenshot with Spoopy. He jumped on them and on to a neighboring roof afterwards.

Okay, I know what you’re saying about snoopy and the marketplace and I know how he did the other one, but MILF Ebony was on de dust 2. We thought all the glitch-able placed had been fixed there, so we’re wondering how that happened.

Not really on topic but Dogs are a bad comparison to human that ruin a video game for others because like said by Pio the dog will forget and a normal human will first of all think of what he’s done (I’m saying normal human because there’s people that say they haven’t cheated but after telling them they’ll never get unbanned they admit they cheated xd)

Right, I forgot about that guy. I can’t tell how he did it cuz he was already there when I came to the server. I grabbed two screenshots and I left (or he left first, don’t remember).

And in response to what Kiwi said about IRC - I always use the /admin command to report (including the suspect’s nickname) even if I’m not 100% sure that they are cheating. There was a guy that came the very next day (which was yesterday), I reported him again, and something tells me that if I played today I’d also see him.
I tried using IRC several times as well, 90% of the time nobody’s there, but hey - I can always leave the troublemaker’s nickname so the admins can keep an eye on them (yay).
Point is I’d rather leave the server than waste my time recording a video using pubovl (which I accidentaly deleted and need to download again).
If you don’t care about AoS enough to have people constantly monitoring the servers, you should look to solutions like I suggested - the group of people with the rights to kick people. If you can live with people cheating all the time, I’m sure you can live with people getting banned as well (you can always call off the ban).

http://aloha.pk/index.php?action=staff
aloha already has guards & mods

you say that like there are even enough (trustable) people to monitor the servers 24/7
aloha can’t force people to staff, people have to decide to actually apply and take the responsibilities

And I said that they do, but they aren’t effective… And it doesn’t mean that there can’t be more of such persons.

Nobody said anything about forcing anybody. I just said that aloha needs a group of people to be on the lookout for cheaters (and I didn’t say that they can’t do that by simply playing the game in their free time like me). I don’t care if they are enslaved and forced to do the job or if they apply for it themselves.

While we have many guards and mods you need to understand that most of them have lives outside of AoS and they’re not on 24/7.

Currently the best thing to do is:
1.Contact any staff that may be on using /admin or in the #aloha irc channel (using !highlight and providing server information or using !check)
2.Use /votekick
3.Record any evidence and report here in the abuse section.

Hopefully we will have better experiences when we decide to put time in developing any possible successor to AoS classic (ie openspades, iceball ,etc)

A cripple can’t be a soldier, so somebody who doesn’t have much of free time shouldn’t be a Guard.
