MILF Ebony & [T.S.A] Spoopy

This topic is going offtopic, but it’ll be the same for everyone. Any one will not have time to be on 24/7. Everyone has real life to deal with (work, school, family, etc)

It was never a secret (on any servers) that if you want to take action against cheaters right away (or at all) it is best to become an admin yourself, rather than having to call for someone else to bring the abusers to justice.

You would be better off either applying for trusted (although the application system seems very stagnant right now - unless you are an arena fag who gets constantly votekicked), which could serve as a step towards a staff position, or just take this matter up with the staff on the irc, thus skipping that particular step (if that’s possible?). Maybe they won’t seem like dogs, after all.

I always thought that having a system when you play whenever you feel like to is way better than having scheduled shifts (which sounds pretty dumb per se). I also don’t think there is a certain tier after they stop reviewing/accepting applicants.

I could try hard and try an attempt to become staff member in a few months and help you Pio  not gonna happen

I think SnIpEr put the reasoning for my original post perfectly in his statement. What if (and I don’t know if it’s true) Spoopy or Ebony decided to play fairly for the past week, and haven’t done anything to deserve a ban? If we decided to ban them, what would they think when they would try to join? They wouldn’t know what they’ve done to be banned, and therefore would be unable to fix their mistakes.

But if there is discipline while they are currently (or soon after) they make their mistake, then they would be able to know what they’ve done wrong, and fix it for future matches. And as SnIpEr said, it’s our fault that we didn’t go over your abuse report soon enough to take action that involved a ban.

All of the aloha staff are volunteers, who spend most of their available time to benefit the servers. We take any help we can get, such as abuse reports such as yours. Even though this specific report didn’t result in a ban, it has notified our staff to watch out for these players. And we appreciate that, since a notification is all we need to watch these players closely and ban them if necessary.

Thanks for putting effort forward into reporting abusers, and sorry that you’re unhappy with the decision.

I’d like to add to the discussion (if an admin feels it’s unnecessary feel free to delete it) that glitching isn’t always on purpose. On laggy connections I have phased through the arena gate on accident before. All I could do was get back as close to the gate as I could and wait a second or two after the gate falls to make up for the distance I gained “unfairly”. So, in general it’s better to take a video as it shows the intent/possible repetition of the offense. Also, make sure that when you are doing a video or even a screenshot that you do:

/ping playername

Where the “playername” is the name you see when you hover the mouse over their body when in spectator mode or even when you are watching them form your team “dead-spectating-view”, because quite often names will glitch out. It happens to me frequently  Not only will my name glitch out for other people, but other people’s glitch out for me and #20 JackAndJill might not really be the person glitching out even though that’s the name I see when I hover over their person.

Cheers.
