By choosing A you’ve already lost. Because choosing A (To take offense) means you thought about B (Ignoring me) but still chose to take offense. Which means you have the ability to ignore any forms of criticism you encounter, but choose not to. And this is exactly what I mean when I previously said you have the right to listen to what you want - because you heard what I said of course, but then decided to listen to it - as Danat pointed out.
I know ignoring people can be hard, and of course targeted harassment should be warned/muted (which is what you described). But it’s part of growing up and learning to deal with things you don’t like on the internet.
I remember there being an /ignore command in a now-closed UK hallway server, meaning you would not see any more messages from that user for a period of time. I think this is the simple solution if we keep getting whiny cunts who need paracetamol after seeing something they don’t like. Should I suggest this in a fresh thread?

i like this idea of /ignore command, it is great but i am not sure this is possible if i am not mistaken there were attempts at similar thing but they did not work, but if you seen this work in another server maybe it is possible, i guess this is up to the admins to figure out

Just read through this thread a bit, thought I’d put in my two cents. A lot of kids use the internet in general and we should not censor the internet. When I’m in public I don’t look around me to make sure there’s no children before cussing casually in my conversation. But I’m also not going to go to the park where kids hang out and start screaming vulgarities. What I’m getting at with this is that there’s a time and a place. Cussing in game shouldn’t be a big deal unless it’s excessive, or blatant racism. The internet is a free place and if you have such a passion against cuss words you should not be using it.

Grownups tend to grow out of the need to “prove themselves” by these means.

You see a brazilian kid use english profanity while playing OpenSpades in software mode. He has an intro that was made by somebody or some website on Google and put shit music. He puts MLG and Xxx in his name. Having a shit ratio and probsbly has an edgy playername on the server. He rages, downloads hacks, record it, upload it, gets banned, lie on appeal, tells the truth because he wants to be famous and record YouTube videos, doesn’t get famous, doesn’t say he got banned after video ends, subscriber finds out and calls him a noob without knowing the meaning of noob, doesn’t record, changes account, do other weird shit.
This is what we mostly see in the servers.

I don’t like the idea of censoring but there are several players that constantly try to disrupt the game. Mostly I ignore it but I rarely pay attention to chat anyway. Why not just permaban the ones that constantly disrupt the servers?
I think a permaban is a little too harsh for playing who simply type racial slurs in-game, a long auto-mute would be great idea, like that Ben Cousins kid received.
I think permaban for those that constantly abuse the system is absolutely justified. However, by constantly I mean those that have been given 10+ chances already and still abuse the system knowing they will be allowed back because the admins are pretty darn generous.
