So I went upland game hunting for Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock.
Fun right? Timelapse of events!
YESTERDAY
-Accidentally blasted a protected animal with birdshot (Spruce grouse [Even game wardens kill them accidentally])
-Had 18 sightings and flushes
-Winged a grouse
-Duke (my dog) caused us to loose 2 grouse
TODAY
-Hammered 1 grouse
-1 flush, but plenty of road sightings
-Hammered another grouse, and 4 flew out of a tree. I shot at one, smashing its wing, and it flew like hell the opposite way
-Came across 2 birds in the road, and they were trying to mate. Unsuccessfully injured one, which got away.
FUN FACTS AND TIPS
Fact: I missed plenty of birds >_>
Tip: If you see a bit of the bird in a bush, shot the shit out of those bushes.
