Some crackers actually upload legit things, but with a fairly high consistency, lots of torrents for OS or AV software contain viruses embedded into the software. I’m not willing to take that gamble.
Who knows what might be in that “safe” download of yours? The guy might’ve installed a rootkit to hide sleeper viruses, ready to activate whenever he wants.
TL;DR It’s possible your download is safe, but I wouldn’t take that gamble.
I have the best/piece of shit antivirus program called bitdefender the best rated. and its a piece of shit sometimes when im downloading things it says virus when its not its a bunch of crap. but Its useful.
