You are required to switch to an Intel mobo if you wish to have an Intel cpu, as their pins are different than AMD cpu’s. But a good mobo is around $150 and a good i5 would be at least $200, and I don’t know anything about AMD mobo’s or cpu’s.
I have become too greedy. I must be grateful for the Mobo I have now. Still thinking about a better gpu though. The 2014 low-end lines look reasonable and small. and in my computer case, I like small.
