Graphics Card Advice Needed

Now that I have a new power supply and a stable income. Shout out some ideas for my next video card. (not promising I will use them)

Wait, but didn’t you just get one?

Your motherboard probably doesn’t even support 2 videocards, you need 2 times PCI-E 3.0 x16 for that.

Yep, but the present is the time to plan the future.

I wouldn’t be using the card I most recently bought.

New budget $120. The card does not need to be new.

Some of them look nice, and fit my price range.

You should google the Club 3D Radeon HD 7850 royalKing

Stick with NVidia

He will get less performance with a higher price that way…

EDIT: ASUS Geforce GTX 650TI
EDIT2: If you’re prepared to give 30 more you can get a MSI Geforce GTX 660. Should be a great card for you.

I have gotten this message a few times but ignored it.
Any advice?

I think you got AMD drivers for a nvidea card…

If you could link me to pages of those. It would be appreciated.

I have the same problem as this guy. http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/245029-disabled-driver.html

Try installing nvidea drivers since its a nvidea card…

EDIT: I got you 2 links:
MSI Geforce GTX 660 150 Euro (If I google it)
http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N660-TF-2GD5-OC.html

ASUS Geforce GTX 650TI 120 Euro (If I google it)
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX650_TI1GD5/

These are just links for more info, I can’t really give you an link for a price since I get dutch results…

Basically what ei8htx said. Nvidia is better from my experiences and my friend’s, who owned a lot of AMD GPU’s and mobos. Here is my recommendation: http://goo.gl/wRvWJn. EVGA is a very reliable third party distributor for Nvidia and the 560 ti is the best bang for your buck, especially since you don’t mind used. Not to mention the extra juice you can squeeze out by OC’ing it (which I can assist you to a certain extent if you wish).

@CrazyMonky: FYI, those are both above his $120 budget. I believe that ranges from $160-200 when converted.

Well sorry AEM but HERE you can get them for the price said.

OOOoooh tasty. Don’t know if I should invest in a newer mobo though.

If you’re planning on upgrading your mobo and gpu and psu, I would just save up for another pc. Is it for extra pci or ram slots?

Neither. A better processing speed would be nice. With a newer gpu I shouldn’t need another psu, my 550 should be good.

If you are looking for a better processing speed, you want to replace your CPU, not your mobo. Mobo’s only hold the CPU in place, it does not affect the speed in any way. In that case, I would recommend Intel i7’s, preferably the 4th generations. They cost at about $275-350 if I’m not mistaken. If you can’t afford it, go back to 3rd generation i7’s or i5’s, but i3’s are slow in general and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Don’t do the i3 (that’s a low end processor for laptops).

The i7 is overhyped simply because 7>5. You can buy an i5 just as fast for less cost.

Make sure you motherboard is compatible with these processors first. Since you currently have an AMD processor, I’m almost certain that it’s not. I can’t speak much to AMD processors, unfortunately.

So I would most likely need a newer mobo.

If I do this upgrade I would be looking for something with a pretty good intergrated graphics card. It is nice to have that kind of fall back if ever something should go wrong.

Lol there’s no such thing as a good integrated graphics card.

AFAIK it’s basically useless anyway, since they can’t both be utilized by the CPU at the same time.

You could look into keeping your motherboard by researching AMD processors. You just got to be careful and make sure it’s compatible.
