Do you Script/Code

Well, if you have any trouble with it feel free to PM me or look up thenewboston on YouTube. His Java tutorials are great.

I’ve learned a lot of Python in the past year. I only started becoming interested in things like this because of pyspades and all of it’s possibilities. I’m starting to get into C# (Amazing!) and C++, and maybe after that I’ll get into web design.
Some things I’ve done so far:

Python: NameGenerator for Ace of Spades, jail.py for Minit Assault
C#: MinitManager (Control panel for Minit sysadmins, you can search logs, change passes, edit configs, file transfers, SSH, and restarting), a wannabe Spadille server browser/AoS configuration helper, and some misc. stuff.
C++: Meh, I forget, that was a while ago, but I remember making some simple crap.

I hope to get more into programming as I get older (only 13 for now, so there aren’t many things I can do besides learn on my own).

WAIT YOU’RE ONLY 13?

I though you were like 20 or something.

I’m 13 and now I feel way behind :c Looks like I got some work to do!

I started coding on accident, sorta. We were picking our classes, and my friend next to me picked it…So I picked it. He dropped the class for something else; I stuck with it.

Did you learn Java?

Did you learn Java?

Ok Java speakers, whats wrong with my download?

You mean Java coders.

You get my point correct?

I know, it’s just I’m not your guy. I’m more of the hardware geek. PXYC or CraftDinur is the person that’s the genius.

Got it.

It means you need to redownload Java most likely… :c Unless you can find a java_sp.dll for the 7.0 JRE by itself…

Re-downloaded 7 times. No dice.
Would the other thing be under Java Control Panel?

I don’t know what you’re actually downloading. If you want to code something you’re better off downloading an IDE like Eclipse or Netbeans. Although lots of books suggest you start using the JDK first I don’t suggest it since you’ll never use it again after the Hello World exercise.

Eclipse is the best for Java scripting and also anything else due to the vast amount of plugins it features…

So Jim, what exactly are you trying to do?

SCRIPTING?

Coding.

There is a difference. When you script it implies you are using a scripting language rather than a programming language. Java is by no means a scripting language.

There is such a thing as JavaScript but that is COMPLETELY different from Java.

Well, its a Java related problem, and some games I am trying to play need Java, and it won’t download right.

LMFAO my bad… I wasn’t paying much attention…(oh well).

Well, I’m not a complete Java wiz, so iI have no idea… I’m sure someone else on here can help though
