Why were you banned? Lying severely decreases your chances of getting unbanned. If your “little brother” got you banned, tell him to make an appeal, or accept responsibility on his behalf.
This is where I’m a little confused. Initially I was muted for saying the n-word the way without the hard g at the end, the way my friends and I have used it growing up. This is apparently unacceptable behavior and before I had a chance to correct myself (which I would have done immediately), I was muted. I went into a bit of a back-and-forth with the mod/admin who muted me, where I attempted to get it across that I had used a version of the n-word that I thought was more casual, and that I didn’t think I was ‘getting away’ with anything. The mod/admin made it clear that I was not to say the n-word again that it was unacceptable in Aloha server which I understood, and that they’d be ‘watching me.’ They proceeded to keep me muted for an additional ten minutes, which is I presume, par for course.
Once I was finally unmuted, I made the remark that “I was muted for saying I’d suck dick” out of a sense of perhaps, sarcastic petulance. I realized the sarcasm would be a little too thick, and immediately said “This was a joke.” At that point, the admin pm’d me saying “Nice one, pink” and then proceeded to ban me without any further warning nor justification that what I had done was stepping beyond some warning he had imagined he made, but hadn’t in actuality.
I’m confused, because I hadn’t continued in any way the behavior that had me muted in the first place (and as specified by the same mod in question), which if I had, I would understand why it’d lead me here. But instead, I commented in a manner that was not offensive to any party save for myself (self-deprecating I thought), leading me to presume that I’m actually being banned out of some uncommunicated sense of being a “repeat offender” that was lucky to even being playing. While I will say that in the past few weeks to one month, I’ve given reason, no lie, to perhaps being muted and even disabled in building, here and there. Nothing unusual to the game play over a long enough period of time. And certainly nothing unusual compared to the stuff people regularly get away with here, but nevertheless, infringing and/or breaking of the rules that in my personal case could lead to a ban. However, I want to address that as of late, I do seem to be on the bad side of some of the admins and that this carries on to their (presumably) judgments of my playing.
Why should you be unbanned?
Because I want to join in this game and the community of people that I know here (for the mod/admins sake, I’ve been playing this game on and off for about four years now) in the way that I normally do. Playing well, and joking around with my friends on here. While I have demonstrated some flareups of inappropriate behavior throughout the duration of the past month, nothing in the way of ban-worthy as should have been informed of me, and nothing compared to the hours of regular, totally appropriate and within the rules gaming that I have done. Of course I won’t be using the n-word in any iteration, as it was made known to me that this was unacceptable behavior by the admin/mod in question, but I was not given the chance to demonstrate that I had learned and corrected that behavior, and instead was put on a “I’ll ban you for anything I perceive to be a screw-up.” Mod/admin, if I am on your badside, can you just call me out on it here? Instead of it coming down in overreaching actions that exacerbate the situation? Let’s talk

Having gone through my own post history, I’ve noticed that I have been warned to not use the n-word before. I have to make a few quick notes
In both instances, I used the version of the n-word that doesn’t end with the hard g, “n*gga” which in certain communities and groups of people, is used as a term of camaraderie.
My usage of it this second time has entirely to do with a faulty memory on my part, and for this, I apologize to the mod/admin if they happened to remember that I had already been warned of this. I would owe it flaring up again as reflecting my having grown up in such a community where we casually use that term, and still using that casually with my friends.
Thus, it was a reflexive behavior, that I would embarrassingly and quickly rectified having been given a chance. I apologize for my usage of it. My own growing experience has nothing to do with the larger community that I join as a privilege when I play this game. I still maintain that these days, in my experience, it seems the option of immediately muting, and asking questions later has been a typical response to my playing, and one which is less interested in rectifying the situation and allowing the game to continue, and instead, aiming toward my summary banning.
I apologize to the mod if I’ve made him seem disingenuous in any way. He certainly hasn’t. But I would be willing to argue that they have dealt unfairly w/r/t to me

Normally I would just let this go but since someone started a votekick, obviously the mood of the server was that the language was not OK, and yet you continued, which is why I muted you initially. Please don’t act dumb, this is obvious. Then once you were unmuted, you come off with a lie about why you were muted? Aloha staff take any action very seriously, so to come out of a mute you already admitted was deserved, and play it off to the rest of the server that it was trivial is not OK. Your argument is always that these rules are not “in writing” but wouldn’t it be an insult to you and I if I had to TELL you we don’t joke around about the N word or the reason for which you were JUST muted?
I’ve seen you around on the server for a long time and when you aren’t acting up you are admittedly a great player, I really hope that you can improve your behavior. Ever since our last talk in February you had been doing just fine! As you’ve already seen the ban above expires in one day. We would love to have you continue to play on our server.

A few points I do want to make from the above, and not to attempt to diminish any personal sense of responsibility for my actions, which I did, but in order to clarify some parts of the abridged exchange that should be understood
The above quotation has been heavily abridge perhaps in an attempt to not be too wordy. However I don’t see quite a few of my messages to the admins to the effect of saying “I won’t say the n-word” again. I think it’s important to point out, because the above as quoted makes it seem like I was unmuted the second after I explained why I was unmuted, when it was an additional ten minutes of time in between then and the unmuting.
In contrast to the above, that first spate of dialogue, between “nigga calm down before you…” to “in tha pen” happened within a minute, very rapid, all while all the parties involved (at least myself) were still playing.
A big point that I want to make is that during gameplay, I did not see these two pieces of dialogues from the admins 1) “Pink this isn’t the first time youve had to be muted” and 2) “It’s ridiculous.” I have to point out that this abridged version of the exchange was going on while we were still in the midst of gameplay, so I missed these first two. LowObservable, I believe this is crucial because had I seen these, I wouldn’t have made such a huff of a lack of dialogue from your part
A HUGE point that I want to make, and even apologize for. The final thing that I said “This is a joke” was in reference to my own comment, but to say the least, I worded it poorly, and yes I can see why it seemed like I was attempting to falsify information. Let this dialogue in the forum be proof of my actions, and allow my apology to LowObservable for saying things that seemed incredibly callous. I hope you can believe me when I say that I wasn’t calling your judgment “a joke” but just saying “oh shit, I better take back what I said because that probably didn’t come out right.”
All these points made, it doesn’t change the way I feel about the community, which is that I love this game, nor that I can now see that, given what he had, LowObservable was justified in his actions. I appreciate what you do man. I’ll see you in the game

Zehra, neither do I. I’m sure you can appreciate the distinctions and degrees among inappropriate behavior. While my language was certainly inappropriate and insensitive and not to be repeated, it was not in the slightest done out of any sense of malice upon which you seem to be basing your tsk tsking response. The issue was settled, and then you made a comment that comes across less as sincere and well thought out, and more as a last second attempt to spin it in a undeserving light based out of perhaps a more general dislike of me, rather than the specificity of the issue at hand. I don’t appreciate it and I hope we can leave it at this

I can verify that most of your messages to admin basically just asking for unmute were redacted, just cause it felt redundant, but this did take place a little over 10 minutes.
I hadn’t realised you didn’t see those admin messages, which does make sense of how you were messaging at the time. Admittedly I didn’t get to see your ‘This is a joke’ message because there were a few seconds between the messages and by then I was writing the ban.
