Why we should unban you: Well, I’ll admit I was aimbotting about a year ago and I got banned. I’d like to say that I’m sincerely sorry for cheating and it was completely inappropriate. I ruined the game for a lot of people and myself. I know the ban was completely asked for but I ask dearly for a second chance. Thank you.
Your reason for doing what you did: Curiosity. I just wanted to see what it would feel like to be good at this game, every time I took 50 steps, I died. But to be honest, cheaters - like me - are the worst, not best.

P.S. - I posted this appeal on the Minit forums but one of the very helpful people on the webchat told me it would be more appropriate to post here.

P.S.S. - The ban is over a year old.

Searching the ban lists I cannot find this IP. However maybe the name you were using at the time would also help in finding your ban. Finding your ban will allow the admin who banned you to deal with it.

Also, GBL usually means Global Blacklist but there’s no “Bacon” listed. So, more info is needed please and you should re-format your appeal to be true to the one provided.

Well, I did re-install and change my name to ConfusedFish recently (I’m still banned) not sure if that affects anything, I’ll submit the other ban appeal template in a second.

Perhaps it’s because my ban is older then usual? Plus I filled out the template in post above. ^

Running your IP through Minit’s bancheck yields this: Ban found. Server: “gbl”. Reason: “Cheating”.

I checked with somebody and he gave me the name of the admin who banned you, who does happen to be an admin here. I’ve sent him a PM so that he may respond to this appeal.

Accept my apology for the previous statement.

This is a Global Blacklist ban, which while originated on our servers, we do not have direct control over.

If you are familiar with IRC and how to use it, I recommend you visit #aos.gbl or maybe #spadille on QuakeNet to request information on how to appeal this ban. The admin directly responsible for it will not be addressing this appeal.

Apparently we subscribe to a banlist that nobody cares to manage. Such is life. I suggest you hang around there for a couple days until someone stops fapping.

My only suggestion would be to keep trying, particularly if you know who to talk to. I, personally, am unfamiliar with the people surrounding the “administration” (or lack thereof) of the gbl. It is unfortunate that such an unregulated entity existed in the first place.

You need to take this up with the GBL, this is not an aloha ban, no one here (who isn’t with the GBL, at least) can remove your ban.
You need to talk to StackOverflow (or possibly Enari, PXYC, izzy, or GreaseMonkey) and see if they will (or even can) remove your ban.

If you can somehow get them to, you have my ‘permission’ to get the ban removed (as I’m the admin who banned you), but I’m not going further out of my way than that.
PS: Going into #aos.gbl and saying “Is anyone active here?” is not the same as contacting an admin.

In the meantime, I’m locking this thread as this is not an Aloha ban.
