Any news about buildandshoot maintenance ?

The website is under “maintenance” for 4 monthes yet. I think it becomes long, and I’m a little anxious, because in the one part, I see the number of players going less and the community being smaller (except on aloha). In the other part, many features were removed as the forum, the channel and the famous hosting.buildandshoot.com (this last removal caused that we cannot easily launch any custom build-only games anymore, and it’s sad…). In fact, most of my best servers doesn’t appear for a long time, as arena mini maps (map27…) or City of Chicago zombie server.

Does anyone have something new about this ?

I just asked IAmYourFriend about this a few minutes ago but not even he can tell me anything.
There doesn’t seem to be much interactions between the BnS admins and moderators since it would explain why not even a moderator of said forums knows anything.
About the zombies server in combination with City Of Chicago, I turned it on again.

I hope someone comes out with some information soon

You’re witnessing the results of a dying game and community. The majority of people have not worked on new games, only clients. However, MuffinTastic, Topo, LeCom, and Greasemonkey are examples of people who worked on new games. Also there was someone, either ByteBit or DoubleByte who also had something. Anywho, for the forseeable future, it looks like BnS may be down. Like BnS, I have a feeling Aloha will be down eventually. These communities are being based solely on one game, in all honesty. There are people who are active except in completely different areas. Nobody wants to come here like they used to. Danke, a huge scripter, has retired and the only one who can take his place is BR, someone who is still doing their studies. Sorry Muffin, not bashing you at all, it’s just that BR has been around a long time.

:o

I think you got it all wrong dude, Izzy said they were doing maintenance on it.
Also making another client doesn’t help the community just letting you know.

Nonsense, I’ve been part of dying communities. That’s how it all starts. We won’t expand to other games and this is how it is going to end.

So sad we can’t visit the BnS Forums,it only brings us to the serverlist. It had many useful Tutorials and modifications.

Izzy said... This reminds me at something... :-X

Ok first thanks for City of Chicago, I saved this funny map

Now I hope BnS isn’t going down as you think. Maybe it is just temporary. However I have the feeling that there is less and less active people and new games than before, and I would be curious how to relaunch this activity. I was surprised of kraken mode, splat, or even halloween and christmas servers, and I would like to help you. So I’m finding ways to create maps or to launch Pysnip servers (I will be soon able to launch a playable server).

So I’m not crying against any ending… I only see that BnS is going slowly and I would like to help you avoiding that.

ok shut the fuck up

We’ll change to a different client if a logical one comes up. OS would’ve worked if our community wasn’t based on most people having grandmother rigs.

This is mostly why this community is almost certainly doomed to fall within the coming years. People who run actual rigs tend to stray from aloha because, while AoS is fun, it’s rather limited. It’s been a good what, almost 7 years of AoS, it’s lasted a lot longer than some other games.

shut the fuck up retards, as long as i’m alive we’re good, so for not so long i guess, haha

Monstarules your post makes me depressive af -_-

It might be, but this community just wants to die because it wont expand. I know our playerbase has grandma rigs but there are other games to play than just AoS, but unless Aloha makes more servers for them, then there’s really nothing else that any of us can do.

Honestly i’ve seen at least a couple of projects “launch” and then fail immediately. Launching another project isn’t just the only thing to get “back in business” but it also depends on advertising, too. I know a LOT of people hate steam but we might wanna try greenlighting a project, (either the one that a team and I are working on or use Muffintastic’s client), maybe?

I thank about a map elargissment (then people can host 1024x1024x128 maps for example, instead of 512x512x64) but it would need to revise the client.

you need to write a new game retard

This is what I wanted to say, but it’s long
