in an effort to encourage donations for our growing debt of expenses, every donation of $10 is good for:
- one 32 slot Ace of Spades Classic server (pyspades/pysnip) for one month upon request
- the warm-fuzzy feeling of knowing you’re supporting aloha.pk, and our eternal thanks!
- optional recognition on aloha.pk forums: your name will, if you want, appear green in some areas and also be listed on the front page, Donations page, and Donors section of the Staff List page
other than running on the same hardware and network, your server will be completely separate from aloha.pk AoS servers; it’s your own, unbranded, 100% customizable server. it will have its own IP/AoS address. aloha.pk staff won’t have access to your server, and it won’t look like aloha.pk is hosting it. think of it as renting a server from any of those “professional” hosts out there, with the bonus of personal service quality that’s expected of aloha.pk servers, grown from over two years’ worth of experience invested in AoS and pyspades/pysnip. plus your server will run natively on our hardware alongside our servers, so there won’t be “time drift” lagginess that can occur in virtual environments i.e. VPS, and ensuring minimal lag/service disruptions is a topmost priority because if your server is being affected by something out of your hands then aloha.pk servers are probably being affected as well.
managing your server is pretty straightforward, you don’t have to mess with any commands or SSH or anything like that. use your web browser to access the control panel and from there you can:
- restart your server with the click of a button
- update or reinstall your server with the click of a button (automatically download and build pyspades/pysnip from source)
- upload and edit files through a File Manager to install scripts and customize your server however you wish (FTP also available)
- view your server’s live console
- backup and download a copy of your server with the click of a button
please understand that you’ll be self-managing your server. i can point you in the right direction as well as offer a helping hand from time to time at my convenience, but i’m just being upfront when i say it’s unrealistic for me to walk you through all the ins and outs of pyspades/pysnip. keep in mind that the asking donation amount will barely cover a regularly full server’s bandwidth costs. thanks!
after you donate please send me a private message here (e-mail is ok, too) that includes your PayPal e-mail address so i can reply with your login credentials, otherwise i’ll send that information to your PayPal e-mail address. setup will usually happen the same day, but please allow up to a couple days.
this isn’t a profit venture, i’m just trying to help aloha.pk break even. all donations will go toward present and future aloha.pk expenses.
