My English is very bad. and this text was created using machine translation. I would be glad if someone helps bring him into a suitable form.
I saw Danko’s guide[details=Click for details]Danko's guide to being annoying(ly hard to hit) - Curated News - aloha.pk community on tricky ambushes, and was inspired to apply these ideas to fortifications / roadblocks.
But for starters, I will quickly go through typical fortifications, and consider their shortcomings.
Let’s decide what we want from strengthening:
- fast construction;
- maximum security;
- wide view.
Everyone who has played Spades at least a little knows that the second and third points contradict each other: you are either well protected or have a good overview. But actually there is a good compromise solution.
The worst thing you can do is to put a simple clogged wall 2-3 blocks high. Such a wall simply serves as a guide to the enemy, she says: “Hey, look, I’m here!”
But many players stop there. Although just adding a wall behind you greatly improves survival.
A good addition would be the walls on the sides - protection against side fire, and a roof over your head - a shadow gives a decrease in contrast.
As a result, we get a box in which you are protected from fire from directions that you do not look at. And for a long time I was content with this decision.
But over time, I liked it less and less. Because the head sticks out too much in the window. I wanted more protection from well-aimed and random shots by the enemy.
And I have two fresh solutions. )))
The first is simple - we will multiply Danko’s wall.
Aiming is much more convenient when sitting down. To do this, raise the surface level underneath.
And that’s how enemies see you. I specifically removed the back wall so that there was a clearance, otherwise I can’t be seen at all. )))
Pros:
- very good protection. Your valuable head is always more than half hidden behind the block;
- moving left and right you can view the desired area, and be inaccessible from other directions;
- this wall is very good for positional warfare.
Minuses:
- in the picture above, I marked the viewing angle with pillars, in practice the central three pillars are outside the zone of your defeat;
- for a wide viewing angle you need to constantly move left-right;
- a quick enemy can get lucky and he can run unnoticed;
- smg is not suitable for this type of roadblock;
- A long stay in such a strengthening can cause claustrophobia. )))
The second solution is the horizontal wall of Danko, which I tested on the “swampcanyon” map today.
This is a map with a swamp, where the sides are divided by a fortress in the middle. An important point - you can’t dig there.
I took the central aisle, and …
But this decision didn’t quite suit me - the enemies quickly realized that it was useless to walk in the center, and began to go around the water and enter me from the flank.
Therefore, I modified the wall several times, and this is what happened in the end.
Note that sitting on the corner we get a vertical wall of Danko. And then you can shoot further than the horizontal wall allows. Being also well protected.
On the side, the side wall has a small staircase. It is very convenient to quickly run upstairs and shoot the enemy who has crept in, who has begun to destroy your wall. This image was blurry and I deleted it.
Also, I did not take a picture of the wall behind me. But it is necessary.
Pros:
- incredible security, you see the legs of the enemy, but he doesn’t see you at all;
- An excellent overview of trying to get around the flank of enemies, they are forced to make a very long detour.
Minuses:
- you can’t look forward very well;
- Not all of your allies understand what you built.
The test result was as follows:
- The rifle is unsuitable for this type of reinforcement;
- I terrorized the opponents so much that even when I stopped sitting in the fortification, they continued to go around the center of the map widely.
P.S. There is no limit to perfection, and these options can still be improved. I just don’t know how? Can you have some suggestions?
I created this guide, wanting to share a cool find, and in the hope that the idiot from my team who started building up “an unnecessary hole from below” blocks and punched “necessary windows” in the center will read and understand his mistake. The “mistake” which he repeatedly persistently repeated. Argh.
