Building a tower in conditions of hard SpawnKill.
You dream of building a tower, but nasty campers constantly kill you and you lose all desire to build further?
Are you annoyed by Qult? Microwawe, and the SwampCanyon map?
Well, I present to you a tower with protection from campers!
The idea is to build a tower so as to be constantly protected from campers. And due to the lack of construction delays due to death, you can go full speed to victory.
All things being equal, building such towers takes a little longer than building classic towers, the construction video of which was filmed by KatyStar based on the guide I prepared: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21h2_9teQp4
However, in conditions when it is not possible to build such a tower, then the builders can come to a decision to diversify the risks,
Let’s talk about the Tower with protection (from campers).
What is the problem with protecting builders during the construction of the tower?
The problem is that it is pointless to build shelters for protection, because players constantly rise layer by layer and shelters will remain below.
And therefore protection from campers is built after the formation of the stairs.
The idea is to build a tower as a wide column,
Such a column closes more territory from the builders.
But it does not completely protect the builders who are building the climb itself
But what if we bend the edges and build a tower in the form of a box.
Great, the process of building such a figure will be protected, but the builders can be killed during the construction of the climb.
We can build a double staircase, and the construction process will be protected, such a staircase will be very strong (picture 3)
However, it takes a very long time to build, because it consists of 2 towers, a wide column, and scaffolding that has as many blocks as the third tower.
We cannot build such a tower because competitors can build a tower faster and we will lose.
And so I came to the conclusion that we need a tower with a better strength-speed ratio.
And after building such a tower, builders can simply strengthen it to get a stronger one.
Let’s think about where to save money?
Well, we no longer need to build a wide column, and therefore we will put a regular one.
And we can also abandon the first half of the tower.
The resulting tower has a cross-section of 2 halves of a regular tower, and therefore it will not be easy to dig it up.
The ascent can be organized with a fast tower, remember our ideal tower “strength-speed”.
In the meantime, we will make do with the ascent with a fast ladder.
That is why it is better to build a long tower, not a wide one, so that there is less work for the ladder, so the cubes will be used more rationally.
This probably sounds strange, but it is better to outsource the strengthening of the fast tower.
I mean that there is a very high chance that this part of the tower will be built for you.
But here we can save money, why build a second scaffolding if we can do with one
Now let’s consider 2 options for building such a tower:
- Monolithic tower. (picture 6)
- Tower with an interval. (picture 7)
The process of building these towers is similar to how wide columns are usually built, you will be protected from all sides.
The process of building Towers: Monolith (00:05) With an interval (01:57)
1) Monolithic tower:
Avoid the height of the wall above the scaffolding in 2 cubes, so the enemies will be able to hit the head.
jump, stretch blocks, jump, insert.(place 2 blocks)
jump, stretch blocks, jump, insert.(place 2 blocks)
2 blocks are needed to save time instead of placing scaffolding.
So you get 1 scaffolding for 3 layers of the wall
If you refuse 2 blocks, then you will come to a case when the height of the wall above the scaffolding will be 2 blocks and you can be killed.
You can also solve this problem if you make your path a full layer, but this will affect the speed of construction.
Advantages: 1. The first 5 layers can be built without empty space, increasing protection from digging.
2. Scaffolding is built every third layer, saving,
3. If desired, instead of scaffolding, you can build a whole layer at the expense of increased construction time (I do not recommend).
Disadvantages: An error during construction can lock you inside.
2) Interval Tower:
Jump onto the upper scaffolding, stretch the blocks, descend to the lower scaffolding. and run in the other direction.
If we do not descend to the lower scaffolding, we can be killed in the head.
Advantages: 1. Allows you to descend for repairs.
2. Mistakes during construction are not so detrimental.
3. Enemies digging up the tower can be killed with a grenade.
4. When falling, the player easily clings to the scaffolding.
Disadvantages: If the camper is on a hill and higher than the builder, it is easier for him to kill the builder when he is on the upper scaffolding.
Let’s sum it up:
A tower with protection from campers will allow you to build more blocks in less time due to the absence of deaths.
Such towers have an optimal ratio of Durability-speed, and will allow you to compete with opponents, all other things being equal.
Other players will help you build a tower, these slackers will definitely strengthen the fast lifting ladder
And they can also just build one of the walls, left or right, speeding up the process.
If they die, the process will continue at your expense. If not, your fate will allow you to strengthen the tower.
Some experienced shooters will still be able to kill you when jumping, but if you put a block in front of you, you will cope.
If you have just started building a tower, then enemies on high ground can kill you in the head.
