[GUIDE] aloha.pk Discord sync

The aloha.pk sync feature connects users between our forum and our Discord server!

The groups a user belongs to here on the forum are perfectly synced with the roles they have on our Discord!

The advantages of this system are:

• users can sync their account in less than a minute!
• better security, specifically for aloha’s internal groups.
• ability for you to add any of aloha’s joinable Discord roles to your account with ease through our Groups page → https://aloha.pk/g

Our forum ensures connected members have their correct roles by controlling the aloha.pk sync bot on our Discord server.

When a connected member is added/removed from a group on our Groups page, the aloha.pk sync bot will add/remove the corresponding role on our Discord!

After syncing your roles, the aloha.pk sync bot will notify you in our #role-sync channel!

It’s incredibly easy to connect your account!

Step 1) Login to aloha.pk → https://aloha.pk/login

Step 2) Visit your Preferences page → https://aloha.pk/my/preferences/account

Step 3) Scroll down to the Associated Accounts section and click the Connect button next to Discord.
^{Note: aloha.pk two-factor authentication must be disabled to complete this step.}

Step 4) Login to your Discord account, and then click Authorize.

Step 5) After authorizing, you will be redirected back to your Preferences page. Click the Connect button to finish!

Congrats! In five easy steps, you are now synced! Visit the Groups page to see which groups/roles are available to join!

All private information received from the Discord authorization is locked behind the layers of system protection we have on the forum.

For the very few members (Managers+) who do have access to see the hidden info, they can only see the email address you connected with.

The permissions listed in the Discord authorization window (below) are needed in order for the aloha.pk sync bot to add/remove roles from your profile on our server.

We don’t use or share any of the personal data that is authorized for the bot to use.
