1) Votekicks last only 30 minutes. Did you wait at least 30 minutes to make sure your "ban" is not just a votekick?

Yes

2) What is your in-game player name? Please include it in the subject of this topic as well.

I am "The Senate".

3) What server were you playing on when you got banned? Reminder: We can only help you with bans that took place on aloha.pk servers.

Top 10

4) Why were you banned? Lying severely decreases your chances of getting unbanned. If your "little brother" got you banned, tell him to make an appeal, or accept responsibility on his behalf.

Unsure

5) Why should you be unbanned?

Let us wait and find out.

6) When were you banned? Best approximate date and time, please.

1) Votekicks last only 30 minutes. Did you wait at least 30 minutes to make sure your "ban" is not just a votekick?

Absolutely. Within the galaxy in my brain, aeons have passed.

Terminal Autism

3) What server were you playing on when you got banned? Reminder: We can only help you with bans that took place on aloha.pk servers.

CS-GO maps.

4) Why were you banned? Lying severely decreases your chances of getting unbanned. If your "little brother" got you banned, tell him to make an appeal, or accept responsibility on his behalf.

As can be seen in the "Hackers get caught by aloha's staff " thread:

5) Why should you be unbanned?

This Doctor is as clean as a clam.

Aimbot: Note that my ping was >500 (due to FBI DDOS attacks), hence things are bound to look choppy - although I don't think this looks like an aimbot anyway.

ESP:
 - For the first kill, I turned around because it was long enough into the round that blues could be coming through the tunnel (and indeed, they did!)
 - For the second kill, I was holding my sight closer the right side of the tunnel as that's the direction blues would be coming from (and by golly, they did!)

6) When were you banned? Best approximate date and time, please.

March 5, 2017, 4:20 平壤時間 (GMT+8:30)

Sincerest regards,
The Esteemed Doctor Dank.

Good day, my crumbliest of crumpets!

This is a modified OpenSpades client(s). Below is an exciting demonstration video:

The most recent version of this mod is for the OpenSpades 0.1.1c client. Older versions of this mod can be found at the bottom of this post.

Here is a description & download for the OpenSpades 0.1.1c version of this mod:

Overall, this version of the mod has less features than the 0.0.12b version. That is because many of the features from the 0.0.12b version are already in vanilla OpenSpades 0.1.1c.

Most of the features I've added can be seen in the Setup->Game Options area. They are listed and described below:
  • OpenGL Effects:
    • Outlines/Outline Strength: Adds outlines to create an effect similar to cel-shading.
    • Textures/Multi-Texture Mode/Texture Strength:
      Spoiler for Detailed explanation:
Textures on blocks can be turned on/off via "Textures". Furthermore, you can go into 'Multi-Texture Mode'. If you want to customize the textures, here is an explanation for how they work:

Without Multi-Texture Mode, a single texture is rendered on all blocks, this texture is in pak000-Base.pak\Textures\MapBlock.png.

With Multi-Texture Mode, an 8x8 texture atlas (pak000-Base.pak\Textures\MultiMapBlock.png) is used. Each block is mapped to a particular texture on this atlas by way of its color.

The position of a block's color on the above palette determines which texture on the atlas will be used. For example, black is mapped to the top-leftmost texture on the atlas, white is mapped to the bottom-rightmost texture on the atlas. Block's colors will be "rounded" to the "closest" of 64 different colors on the palette when determining which texture on the atlas to use.

Any resolution of textures will work so long as the resultant image is square and has power-of-two dimensions.

The last field is "Texture Strength", which determines the blending between the texture and the block color.
  • Spectator Tools:
    • Spectator Player Names: When you are on the spectator team (and alive), show names above player models.
    • 1st Person Spectator Enhancements: When first person spectating a player, adds the following: Shows the reticle, shows the player scoping in, improves the player model.
    • Spectator Wallhack: This is meant to provide functionality similar to PUBOvl. When you are on the spectator team (and alive), a wallhack is enabled. There are some details to clarify about the wallhack:
      Spoiler for Detailed explanation:
      • The wallhack will render players above everything else, including any non-player models.
      • Players are rendered with an outline, whose color is that of their team.
      • Visible players are rendered normally, with a lighter colored outline.
      • Non-visible players are rendered as black with a darker colored outline.
      • A player is 'non-visible' when his/her body (excluding gun models) is fully occluded. A player's body can be 'occluded by the map' or 'occluded by fog'. A player is 'occluded by the map' by being behind blocks. A player is 'occluded by fog' by being in a fog density of 99.99% or greater. Note that fog density calculation is done using OpenSpades. Different clients can calculate fog differently, so take 'occlusion by fog' with a grain of salt.
  • Misc:
    • Volume: Master volume control.

Some things aren't in setup that are changed:
  • Added the proper character limit to chat messages.

To use this you need to download Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 (unless you already have it). Then you just need to download/extract "OpenSpades-Mod-0.1.1c-Windows.rar" (at the bottom), and run it normally. This client also works with the fancy PNGSight mod, which can be set up via the instructions on the link.

In Sources.rar, I have attached the modified source code for all files that I've changed. All changes have been kept track of using // ADDED: and // MODIFIED: comments (version control is for amatuers). In Resources.rar are all the resource files I have either added or changed.

Here are the older versions of this mod:
Spoiler for OpenSpades 0.0.12b:
Here is a description & download for the OpenSpades 0.0.12b version of this mod:

Most of the features I've added can be seen in the Setup->Game Options area. They are listed and described below:
  • Effects:
    • Smoke: Turns off smoke entirely.
    • Gun Sight Animations: Turns on/off camera sprint animation, grenade explosion camera shake, scope zoom animation.
  • Minimap Settings:
    • Minimap Tracers: Adds the voxlap feature of minimap tracers.
    • Minimap Gun Type Icons: Gives the minimap separate player icons for each gun type.
  • Scoreboard Settings:
    • Scoreboard Gun Icons: Shows gun icons beside players on the scoreboard. Won't work in 800x600.
    • Show Spectators on Scoreboard: Spectators on the scoreboard.
  • Player Observe:
    Spoiler for Detailed explanation:
This is intended to function like PUBOvl. To use it, you must have Player Observe turned on. Then, when you switch to spectator team and have respawned, it will go into 'observe mode' for whichever player is selected with Player Observe No.

When in observe mode, it will show the 1st-person perspective for that player like in PUBOvl. You can use the left/right arrow keys to move between players. It will also have an ESP turned on, there are some details to clarify about the ESP:

    • The ESP will render players above everything else, including any non-player models.
    • Players are rendered with either a red or blue outline. A red outline is for enemies (of the observed player), blue for allies.
    • Visible players are rendered normally, with a lighter colored outline.
    • Non-visible players are rendered as black with a darker colored outline.
    • The ESP does not take gun models into consideration when determining if a player is visible or not.
    • The ESP does indicate sufficiently far away players as non-visible, but I believe it is 3-5 blocks generous in what it considers to be 'close enough'.

The remaining settings for player observe:

    • The setting Player Names in P.O. turns names on/off around players when in player observe.
    • The setting Show Team Colors makes the ESP use team colors instead of blue/red.

Note that this feature only works with the OpenGL renderer.

The last field is "Texture Strength", which determines the blending between the texture and the block color.
  • Misc:
    • Volume: Master volume control.
    • Player Names in Spectate: Shows names on players when in spectate mode.

Some things aren't in setup that are changed:
  • Added the proper character limit to chat messages.
  • Loads all the audio/image resources on the load-screen so they aren't loaded while in the game.
  • Uses the recoil & spread values from OpenSpades 0.1.

To use this you need to download Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 (unless you already have it). Then you just need to download/extract "OpenSpades-Mod-0.0.12b-Windows.rar" (at the bottom), and run it normally. This client also works with the fancy PNGSight mod, which can be set up via the instructions on the link.

I have attached the modified source code for all files that I've changed. All changes have been kept track of using // ADDED: and // MODIFIED: comments. Also in Sources.rar is a text file containing info about any Resources that have been changed.

There will inevitably be bugs in these mods that I've missed. If you encounter any issues or have any suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know and I will see what can be done.

God bless and keep you,
The Magnificent Doctor Dank.

Good day, my plumpest of pickles!

My pervasive spy network of high-authority double-agents on aloha.pk has recently brought to my attention that several of the maps from the babel rotation have mysteriously vanished. In some instances, eradication is no doubt greatly welcomed. In other cases, however, such as this or that, it seems unfair that a such a destructive fate was administered. Was there a general consensus that these maps offered a poor gameplay experience and needed the boot? Or was this just the dubious behavior of big brother at work from behind the curtains?

From here: What about this?

Quote from: Pink Block Man
Some maps i think are/were/might be good:

- crossfire3 (griefing was a bit annoying there though)
- toast
- random (sometimes a bit unfair for one side but it was still nice to have a gen map on)
- encampement
- pincushion (yeah, i like long maps^^ griefers are also a problem here sadly)
- PADesert (maybe an alternative to binladencompound?)
- trb (very old map, should have more building oriented gameplay as there is lots of water)
- Islandpassage (similar to Island, short map if boundary damage is added)
- mazemountain (was very challenging sometimes but im actually missing this one)
- or at least another maze map maybe (mazehills was alright, another one was also fun, looking at the map stats it
  might've been "ruins")
- gobi (maybe an alternative to spitfire)
- pinpoint2 (with boundary damage)
- battlefarm 128 (could be put into the rotation alternating with the regular battlefarm)
- goldbeach
- mirage (in alternation with halongbabel maybe)
- jungletest (i made a complete map of this, but this one is suited much better for babel since its very small)
- another turv
- standoff (i remember call of liberty having this one, seemed alright for babel and therefore very builder friendly)
- probably a whole lot of other maps by Danke which i haven't even seen or dont remember

With that in mind, what about the purpose behind that entire thread? Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but it doesn't seem as if any new developments to the babel rotation have recently been made. Gentlemen - we shouldn't let fear of change, laziness and/or reddit addictions cripple us.

Here is an idea to help avoid the babel map rotation from stagnating (any further) that also ensures the gears of progress remain churning:

  • Every (period of time, i.e. month), a discussion thread is created. In this thread, a list of babel maps to potentially be added is put forth. The forum can discuss and vote in this thread, and the winning map(s) are temporarily added to the babel rotation to be tried out.
  • The success of the map(s) that have been temporarily added is monitored (i.e. for a week). On the forum, their success can be discussed, and perhaps even statistical methods such as player fluctuations can be taken into consideration.
  • Though some final method of decision, the map(s) are either deemed successful or unsuccessful. Based on this decision, the maps are either taken back off of the rotation, or they're kept there permanently.

Obviously, this forum can be rather sleepy at times, so perhaps the previous idea isn't always going to work. Nonetheless, that is my idea, but I'm not the one who has the power to make such things happen (aside from my devious and subtle manipulations). Food for thought, old eggs.

Good day, my boisterous beans!

I was able to write up some additions to the OpenSpades0.12b source code, such that the minimap displays bullets, like in Voxlap AoS. Please, feast your eyes on the demonstration video below:

I successfully compiled this modified version, and I’ve been using it for about a day without running into any issues (or at least any that haven't been fixed!). I am going to put this here for anybody interested in going through the following troublesome procedure in order to attain this small but useful extra perk.

I regret that I can't promise it's perfectly stable (but again, I haven't encountered any problems), yet if you run into any issues, you can either ask me to try and fix them, or can just change back to the normal version. I can say, however, that this modified version should not conflict with any simple resource or script mods (the ones I use are unaffected).

I attached a rar file "Minimap Bullets.rar" containing the modified OpenSpades.exe and some additional required resources.

To get this (hopefully) working, go to your OpenSpades0.12b installation directory, and do the following things:
  • Replace OpenSpades.exe with the one in the rar file.
  • Go into the OpenSpades\Resources directory and replace pak000-Base.pak with the one in the rar file.
  • If you are using mods and do not want to entirely replace the .pak file, go into the pak000-Base.pak\Gfx\Map\ directory and add the Bullet.png file found in the rar file.
  • It should work now, just run the new OpenSpades.exe as usual.

It is very possible you get an error saying something like "Missing MSVC(Something).dll", in which case you probably just need https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145. It only takes about 5 minutes to download and install. If it still doesn’t work after installing this, then hopes are looking grim.

For those that are curious, source code files that were modified have also been uploaded.

I also know MuffinTastic asked me to try and makes changes that would impose a character limit on sending in-game chat messages, so that it wouldn't glitch the chat in voxlap AoS. I can certainly look into doing that as well!

May the Lord bless and keep you all,
Doctor Dank.

Good day,

I have an inquiry for any applicable administrators regarding your arena top 10/arena all maps servers. In particular, I am wondering if the issue of these servers always crashing (and then never coming back online) is resolvable.

Perhaps you are already aware of this issue and find it unable to be fixed? If not, I think I speak on behalf of a large portion of arena players when I say that we significantly prefer top 10/all maps to the cs-go maps. Fixing this issue would certainly improve the "ace of spades experience" quite heftily for a sizable percentage of people who play this game.

Thank you,
Doctor Dank.
