I did get a reply from an admin who said he/she/they were very busy but would take a look at our maps soon. That was a few days ago, not sure what's going on but maybe if we get some more comments here?

yarr could be very interesting and yubacore was actually in the babel rotation for a while in the past. i remember liking it

I think everybody is really excited about adding new maps!

The difficult part will be choosing the maps to remove. Is there a way to keep the old maps but make it a really slim chance that they will be randomly selected by the server? What about using these links to add a survey on a survey site? Or, just comment below? ;-)
